CORE End-of-Life Announcement

After a remarkable lifespan of more than 30 years for our original model-based system engineering software, CORE, we have made the decision to officially announce the end of life for the CORE product line. This decision was not made lightly. The development helps pave the way for a new era of innovation and investment in our GENESYS line—with its growing ecosystem of partner integrations—as well as for exciting new products on our roadmap.

CORE was groundbreaking when it was introduced in 1993, embracing and empowering model-based systems engineering ahead of its time. CORE served as a cornerstone of Vitech’s solutions for decades, equipping systems engineers to define, develop, and manage complex systems for government agencies and private and public companies around the globe. However, as software technology and market needs have evolved, we are adapting to provide even more powerful tools to address our community’s ever-changing needs.

Vitech began developing GENESYS in 2005 and launched it in 2011 as the eventual replacement for CORE. Designed and built from the ground up with modern tools and user interface (UI) and the flexibility of a completely open architecture, GENESYS represents the culmination of years of dedicated research, development, and feedback from our customers. It is designed to be the ultimate successor to CORE—offering robust systems engineering capabilities while enabling the open exchange of information across tool and team boundaries, empowering a customized approach to data management.

While CORE has provided immense value over the years and is still in use by certain customers, GENESYS now exceeds CORE in capabilities and features, user experience, and security. We have found that continuing to offer CORE in parallel with GENESYS diffuses our product development and support efforts, and creates confusion for both existing and new customers. In addition, due to aging technology and ordinary attrition in the software development marketplace, it is no longer practical to continue to maintain and support CORE.

We understand that this transition may raise questions and concerns for our existing CORE users. Rest assured that our team is committed to making this transition as seamless as possible. We will continue to support CORE users with existing maintenance coverage and/or subscription licenses and will work with you to help you evaluate your options to migrate to GENESYS.

We encourage all our valued CORE users to take a fresh look at GENESYS 2023. We believe it will exceed your expectations and empower your organization to achieve new levels of digital engineering proficiency. It is not just a software upgrade, but a transformative tool that will drive your business forward.

To learn more about GENESYS and the migration process, please visit our CORE end-of-life page. You will find detailed information, guidance regarding migration, and contact details for our support team. We are here to help you embrace this exciting transition and unlock the full potential of GENESYS.
